ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Development, Planning and reforms Chaudhry Ahsan Iqbal has said that government wants Pakistan to be among the developed countries of the world up to 2025. He said that country would be connected to the economic globalization.
In an interview with a state-run TV channel, He said that reforms are underway for improving the national institutions and the efficient, dutiful and honest heads of these institutions are being appointed. He said that inefficient heads of the institutions would have to leave giving their positions to the efficient ones.
He further said that there should be difference between the donkey and the horse, saying that laziness would never be allowed. He said that the country which promoted their mother language, made progress in the world.
Ahsan Iqbal said that education is the priority of the government, saying that the rate of budget would be increased up to four percent for improving the state of education. He said that government wants Pakistan to be among the developed countries of the world up to 2025.
He said that there was no plan for progress of the country from 1999 to 2013, saying that firstly a plan is chalked out for running even a house and required objectives cannot be achieved without planning for running a country.
He said that there has come a positive change in the country and one elected government completed its five years term and there looks a political stability in the country which was in Malaysia, Korea, China, Taiwan and Singapore and through which these countries made progress.
Ahsan Iqbal said that while overcoming the problems of load shedding and unemployment, Pakistan should not disconnect itself from the major changes emerging in the world, saying that there is globalization and the world is squeezing, there is knowledge evolution, information evolution and a country cannot establish itself without solid approach towards progress. He said that country should be harmonized with the globalization.
