WEB DESK – Almost 100,00 students in Dera Ghazi Khan of grade 5 and 8 were conditionally promoted by the government of Punjab to next classes after parents staged the protests.
According to an official circular issued on Saturday the government schools were asked to give admission to those students who previously failed the promotion exams.
The circular also noted that during summer vacations, the previously failed students would again have to give promotion exams.
The parents of failed students started staging protests citing different excuses including out of syllabus questions in exams, poor performance of school teachers to prepare students for exams, strict marking by the examiners and other similar problems.
The education department of Punjab had now decided to give one another chance to those who could not succeed in previous exams held in February-March earlier this year.
