Jamat-e-Islami’s new chief suggests easy way to achieve peace with outlawed TTP

Sirajul Haq

WEB DESK – The newly appointed chief of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Sirajul Haq has maintained that coherence between two Sharifs – premier Nawaz Sharif and Army Chief of Staff General Raheel Sharif – is crucial for peace dialogues with outlawed militant group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Siraj was speaking to media personnel on Friday when he said that government should be responding positively and hugely to every step of outlawed TTP.

JI’s ameer suggested that if prime minister and army chief would be on same page regarding negotiation only then success could be achieved from it.

Siraj said “If (outlawed) Taliban take one step then government should and must take two towards them.” He also hoped that Taliban would extend a new ceasefire with government of Pakistan and its security forces.
