First Pakistani president in three decades to visit Nigeria from April 21

ISLAMABAD – The first Pakistani President in last three decades to visit Nigeria as  President Mamnoon Hussain will seek new horizons of opportunities with African nation from April 21, stated foreign office of Pakistan. 

According to the official communique issued on Thursday, President of Nigeria Goodluck Jonathan had extended the invitation to Mamnoon Hussain earlier.

The foreign office had described the visit as an important one as it would be the first visit of any Pakistani president to Nigeria since last three decades.

Nigeria is an important member of D-8, OIC and the UN where the two countries closely collaborate. The trade relations between Pakistan and Nigeria have improved considerably. The total volume of trade between the two countries almost doubled recently from earlier $ 30.677 millions in 2011-2012 to $ 67.361 million in 2012-2013.
