According to research by the University of London, reducing the amount of salt in your daily diet by reducing 15% is helpful to cut the risk of death from heart disease and stroke by 40 to 42 percent.
Researcher Graham Mac Groger said “reduction in the salt intake in the daily diet can save thousands of lives.”
Researchers noted that excessive use of salt causes high blood pressure, which is a big cause of heart disease and stroke.
The research analysis concluded that the reduction in salt in our favourite foods was the key to ‘plummeting’ deaths from cardiovascular disease in recent years.
