WEB DESK – The already ailing national flag career ‘Pakistan International Airline’ received another blow to its existence as Saudi Arabia threatened to refused providing airport services over not paying the outstanding dues.
According to a report on Wednesday, the Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA) PIA of halting all flights in case unpaid dues were not cleared by April 17.
Sources said Saudi Arabia’s civil aviation authority has issued several notices to the PIA in the past as well but this appears to be the final warning.
PIA has been marred with deep loss for many years. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’s government, when came in power, decided to privatize 26 percent of its shares.
According one estimate, the company is losing Rs 87 million every day.
