WEB DESK – The chief of army staff General Raheel Sharif would soon be calling on Pakistan’s prime minister Nawaz Sharif to convey the institutional reservations of Army over specific national affairs, claimed televised reports.
One private television channel reported on Monday’s evening that General Raheel Sharif would convey all reservations of military top brass taken up by the recently held corp commanders’ conference.
Source claimed that reservations were about Pervez Musharraf’s high treason trial, peace negotiations with outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and lose statements made by federal minsters.
The president of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has maintained that those federal minister who ‘maligned’ Pakistan Army stands disqualified aas per the constitution of the country.
On April 8, PakistanTribe reported that General Raheel Sharif vowed to uphold the sanctity of Pakistan Army as an institute against ‘undue criticism’. However, at that time he never quoted any direct references.
Later, it was also reported that military’s top commanders would be discussing the statement of their top commander in corps commanders pre-scheduled meetup on April 9.
According to the Direcot General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Majore General Asim Bajwa’s tweet, the army chief said “Pakistan Army upholds sanctity of all institutions &will resolutely preserve its own dignity/institutional pride,on undue criticism.”
