Hundreds of suspected criminals held in Karachi to restore peace

WEB DESK – The police in Karachi and Sindh Rangers have arrested hundreds of suspected criminals within few hours in a bid o restore peace and curtail fresh wave of target killings in the city of lights.

Security sources confirmed to the metropolitan correspondents that at least 310 suspected criminals were held in different raids only on Satrday.

Rangers’ personnel conducted the operation in the areas of of Bhains Colony, Landhi, Quaidabad, Shah Latif Town, Korangi, Clifton, Baldia Town, Saeedabad and other areas. During the raids, 130 suspects were arrested.

Separately, the city’s East Zone police carried out raids in various areas of the metropolitan and arrested 180 suspects.

All suspected criminals were reported to possess either drugs or weapons at the time of their arrest. Further investigations are underway.

PakistanTribe reported earlier that Sindh Rangers have decided to speedup the targeted operation in Karachi against miscreants who have killed as many as 12 men during last few days.

According to a spokesperson of SIndh Rangers, the paramilitary force formed two teams for the arrest of elements involved in the fresh wave of targeted killings in the city.

The decision to form the special teams was taken at a meeting held at the Rangers headquarters. He said that the elements involved in the killings would be arrested soon.

A targeted operation against criminal elements had been underway for past many months. But the gangsters never gave up to gift dead bodies to the city almost every day.
