WEB DESK – The senior leader of Pakistan Peoples Party and third-timer in Chief Minister house of Sndh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, revealed that multibillion dollar foreign investments are expected in his province over the next three years.
Shah, who once only handed over Rs 1,000 to a handicap young man in Thar to treat his four ailing siblings and a wife, was talking to journalists when he made the sweeping statement. He was speaking at the occasion of ‘Annual Investment Meeting – 2014’ at Dubai’s International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Shah said the Sindh delegation had told the participants about the attractive investment opportunities that the province offered. “We expect that our efforts will translate into foreign investments, which will not only increase Pakistan’s international trade volume but will also bring prosperity to the people of the province,” Shah added.
Delegations from a number of countries have promised largescale investments in different sectors, the chief minister said, adding that the Sindh government was taking concrete steps for further developing the province’s industrial base.
PakistanTribe reported on April 3 that Shah was too busy to sign the important official documents of promoting as many as 50 officers of grade-20, and to kick start computerized registration of 0.5 million weapons.
The officials of Sindh interior department were now irked due to the unnecessary delay in running official affairs by Qaim Ali Shah.
It was reported that days passed by that interior department alias home department had sent CM a summary to promote 50 officers of grade 20 but he could not sign the papers due to his ‘busy’ schedule.
Qaim Ali Shah, a veteran PPP leader, had become the Chief Minister of Sindh for the third time in his political careerafter 2013 elections. He also remained chief minister in 1988 and 2008. This is his second consecutive tenure in CM House.
