PMLN nawaz sharif

WEB DESK – The federal government of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is all set to install its own man in the Governor House of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) where rival political party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) is leading the coalition government.

According to the details, Engineer Shaukatullah resigned from the governorship of KPK on Tuesday morning which further paved the way for PML-N’s Sardar Mehtab Abbasi to take over the charge as new governor.

Former president Asif Ali Zardar had appointed Shaukatullah on February 11, 2013 by removing Barrister Masood Kauser.

A source privy to PML-N also claimed that Mehtab’s appointment has been finalized for quite some now and soon he will be taking the oath.

Currently, Mehtab is the opposition leader in KPK assembly which now would have to resign from his seat to take oath as governor.

The Governor of KPK is the appointed Head of State of the provincial government. The governor is designated by the Prime Minister and is normally regarded a ceremonial post.
